The Staller Center for the Arts is the main arts building at Stony Brook University. It opened in 1978 as the Stony Brook University Fine Arts Center before being renamed in October 1988 after a $1.8 million donation from the Staller family. Located on the main campus of Stony Brook University, it consists of two main divisions. Other attractions at the Staller Center include broadcasts of the New York Metropolitan Opera in HD, the annual Stony Brook Film Festival and the artists-in-residence The Emerson String Quartet.

Staller Center for the Arts, named in memory of Max and Mary Staller, offers a wide variety of world class performances from September through May and presents the Stony Brook Film Festival every July. Over 50 professional performances, as well as approximately 450 events generated by the departments of Art, Theater Arts, and Music, are part of the Staller Center season.
